You also have the option of converting them into a termite bait system with a process called pre-baiting. This process involves removing Novaluron cartridges and replacing them with a wood base (TMB) and an inspection cartridge (TIC). The wood base attracts termites to the bait station, and once termite activity is detected, you can replace the inspection cartridge with Novaluron, neutralizing the insects. If you choose to go the pre-bait route, you will need to replace the wood base and inspection cartridge about every 12-15 months.
